FAQ
Questions, answered
Pricing, scheduling, what we take, and where it ends up — the things Tucson and Pima County ask us most, without the runaround.
Pricing & Estimates
How much does junk removal cost in Tucson?
There's no flat rate, because no two loads look the same. We price by volume — how much space your stuff takes up in the truck — and you get a firm number before we lift anything. Call or send the quote form and we'll size it up. Book online and you save $20.
How does volume-based pricing actually work?
Think of the truck bed in brackets: minimum, quarter, half, three-quarter, and full. A bedroom set, a cleaned-out garage, a whole rental turnover — each one lands somewhere on that scale. You pay for the space you fill. Not per item, and not for room you didn't use.
Is the estimate free, and is the price firm?
Free, and firm. We look at the load, quote it, and that's the price. No add-ons after the fact, no surprise fuel or disposal fees at the end. If the number doesn't work for you, we shake hands and part friends.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. Even a single-item pickup means a truck and a crew coming to your address, so there's a floor on pricing — the smallest bracket on our volume scale. We'll tell you exactly what it is when you call.
How do I get the $20 discount?
Book through the quote form on this site instead of over the phone. Twenty dollars comes off your final price. No code, no fine print.
Scheduling & Pickup Day
Can you come out the same day?
Usually, yes. Same-day and next-day slots are open most of the time, weekends included. The earlier in the day you call, the better your odds on a same-day window.
Are you really open 24 hours?
Yes. Phones are on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Early morning before work, late at night after a move, Sunday afternoon — if you're ready, we'll find you a slot.
How much notice do you need?
Less than you'd think. Plenty of jobs get booked same-day. For a full property cleanout or a demolition job, a day or two of lead time helps us bring the right crew and enough truck space.
What do you need from me on pickup day?
Point at what's going. That's the whole job on your end. Leave it where it sits — in the garage, the back bedroom, the side yard, up a flight of stairs. We handle the lifting, the carrying, the loading, and the sweep-up.
Do I have to drag everything to the curb first?
No. Curbside is fine if that's easier for you, but it isn't required and it doesn't change your price. We'll come get it wherever it is.
What We Take
What kinds of things do you haul?
Furniture, appliances, mattresses, household clutter, boxes, yard debris, remodel and construction debris, garage and shed pile-ups, office furniture, hot tubs, playsets, and whole-property cleanouts. If you're standing there wondering how it's ever going to leave the house — that's our department.
Is there anything you can't take?
Household hazardous waste. Paint, solvents, motor oil, pool chemicals, propane tanks, automotive fluids, and anything labeled toxic or flammable. Those need the Tucson/Pima County Household Hazardous Waste Program, which City of Tucson residents can use at no charge. Not sure whether something on your list counts? Call and ask before pickup day — it's a two-minute conversation.
Do you take mattresses and box springs?
Yes, and we'll carry them out of the bedroom ourselves. No wrestling a king-size down a staircase, and no calling around trying to find somewhere that accepts them.
Do you take refrigerators, washers, and other big appliances?
Yes. Fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, water heaters. They're heavy, awkward, and usually wedged into a space that was never designed for getting them back out. That's exactly the job.
Do you handle estate and hoarding cleanouts?
We do, and we handle them carefully. Estates, inherited properties, rental turnovers, and hoarding situations get discretion and the pace you set. We sort as we go, pull anything worth donating, and leave the place broom-ready.
Do you do demolition, or only hauling?
Both, in the same visit. Sheds, decks, patios, fencing, flooring and carpet tear-out, interior demo. We tear it out and the debris leaves with us. You're not left staring at a pile in the driveway waiting on a second call.
Where It Goes
What happens to my stuff after it leaves?
It gets sorted. Anything still usable goes toward donation, recyclable material goes to recycling, and only what's genuinely spent ends up at the landfill. Keeping usable things out of Arizona landfills is part of how we work, not a line on a brochure.
Can you pick something up purely for donation?
Yes — that's its own service. Furniture, working appliances, household goods, clothing and textiles with life left in them. We'll come get them and route them to a local nonprofit.
Service Area & Company
What areas do you cover?
Tucson and most of Pima County — Oro Valley, Marana, Catalina Foothills, Casas Adobes, Catalina, Tanque Verde, Vail, Sahuarita, Green Valley, Flowing Wells, and Drexel Heights. If you're right at the edge of that list, call anyway. We usually make it work.
Are you a franchise?
No. Haul It Off Junk Removal is family-run and locally owned, based right here in Tucson. Same people answering the phone, same crew pulling into your driveway, no corporate script in between. Our reputation is the only thing bringing us the next call.
How do I get started?
Call us or send the quote form. Tell us what's going and roughly where it sits in the house. We'll come back with a window and a firm price.
